Installing a Luxury Air Conditioning System on a Budget
Are you building or renovating within a tight budget? Are you wanting the modern look without the price tag?
Air Conditioning is pretty much a necessity these days for new builds or renovations. There is nothing worse then walking through a new property in the middle of summer only to learn that you are relying on ceiling fans to cool you down. The expectation (especially for those properties on the higher end of the price range) is that a ducted Air Conditioning system will be installed. According to Domain.com.au ducted air conditioning is one of the 10 hottest luxuries to add value to your home!
So how do you obtain the sleek and modern Air Conditioning system on a budget? Well the COLDCOAST team are here to help with a few suggestions from our product purchaser and director Jason du Buisson.
Grille Styles and Sizes
“When installing ducted Air Conditioning I would suggest checking out the 'off the shelf’ grille styles and sizes. These are available in modern designs and by buying off the shelf you will save yourself the hassle of having to pay for a customized grille".
For those of you scratching your heads, the ‘off the shelf’ aluminium linear grille sizes are:
- 400mm x 150mm
- 600mm x 150mm
- 1000mm x 150mm
"If you’re installing within a double story property I recommend making sure you have allowed for enough duct dropper positions at design stage. Otherwise you could end up having to fork out for a carpenter & plasterer to build dropper boxes at a later stage in the development."
Select a Reliable Product
"As a cost saving alternative I would suggest using brands such as Braemer and Samsung. In my 10 years’ experience within the Air Conditioning industry I have found these two manufacturers to be both reliable and cost efficient.”
